Comment / EI-DCC executes a go around off runway 23 due to a temporary runway closure.

Comment / EI-DHY arrives overhead as the FedEx 1 to Memphis departs in the distance. Note the reflection of the landing lights on the belly of the landing Ryanair 737. At full 300mm zoom and a shutter speed of 1/60th sec, this shot made full use of the VR on my new Nikkor - a top quality lens.

Comment / The Dreamliner swings on to 05 for the evening service to Gothenburg City.

Comment / EI-DPN is one of the latest aircraft for Ryanair, delivered on the 8th March.

Comment / With the retro-fitting of its Boeing 737-800 fleet with winglets now complete, it seems that Ryanair is also plugging the eyebrow windows on older aircraft, as modelled by here EI-DAG.

Comment / Vacating runway 08 in the heat haze with flaps and spoilers still in landing configuration.

Comment / For photo #1000 I thought it would be great to dig out something a little more rare…

Comment / During the middle of winter, the sun sets in just the right position at Stansted, nicely silhouetting arrivals on to runway 23, whilst also revealing traffic further south over London.

Comment / A lucky shot here as Ryanair's Boeing 737-800 EI-CTA approaches Stansted's runway 23, whilst an easyJet B737-700 descends in the background for runway 26 at nearby Luton.

Comment / Glad to be down! After flying through a thunderstorm and being struck by lightening whilst on approach into Luton, EI-DLK then encountered another storm cell right over the airfield and had to perform a go-around due to the poor visibility. She eventually landed successfully the second time round.

Comment / The original Ryanair 737-800. Delivered back in March 1999 in the classic Ryanair livery, she now wears the updated colours and winglets, with additional "Scotland - Welcome to our life" titles. With over one hundred more 737-800s delivered since her arrival she is still going strong, but in true Ryanair cost-cutting style, she will be returned to her lesser during late 2007 and replaced by new build aircraft.

Comment / One of the many older Ryanair 737-800s that are now buzzing around with winglets...
